The Brand

The Artisan Collective is an attempt at creating a community, where the different arts are combined, whether it is woodworking or sewing. The Artisan Collective will function as a “Middle Man” meaning that artists will be able to sell their work through their page as well as gaining exposure, which in turn then will gather more customers to their cause. The artists will only sell what they want to produce unless they decide to do commission work. With this community, artists might also collaborate on projects with each other. Adnan described it as, and we are paraphrasing “It’s like eBay, but without being like eBay”.

Design Thinking

For this project, we decided to use a different design method than usual. From our experiences we knew that most linear workflows didn’t fit our teamwork Therefore we changed to Design Thinking. This method, helped us manage our project, tasks, and processes. Design Thinking consists of five different phases. Based on those stages, we could create our milestones and our schedule easier.

Website

Creating a platform focused on seamless experience is difficult. Therefore, we were following K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid) attitude. We aimed to simplify the experience for every new user of the platform. Although, the majority of people are very accustomed to working online. Our research found out that this is still not true for everyone. Especially in the niche of craftsmanship. This  made a considerable factor for the user experience on the platform as intuitive as possible.
